TOWN OF FOREST, VERNON COUNTY RECYCLING POLICY
WHEREAS, the Town of Forest, Vernon County Board of Supervisors has passed a procedure and policy for disposing of recyclable and non recyclable materials.
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest of the Town of Forest to control roadside dumping and sanitary discarding.
WHEREAS, the Town Board of Supervisors of the Town of Forest, does ordain that all recyclables and weekly debris be deposited at the town’s recycling center.
WHEREAS, the recyclables are defined as aluminum cans, tin cans, glass bottles, newspapers, cardboard corrugated boxes and plastic containers.
WHEREAS, glass bottles to be sorted by color, newspapers to be bundled with cord, boxes to be flattened and bundled with cord, and only number 1 thru 7 plastic containers are considered recyclable.
WHEREAS, only weekly debris such as household garbage will be accepted during recycling hours.
THEREFORE, appliances, tires, furniture, computers, lawn mowers and other large items will be accepted only during the established “FALL” & “SPRING” clean up days. The Town cannot accept medical waste, hazardous waste, paint or oil.
THEREFORE, after the effective date hereof, no person shall enter the area designated as the Town of Forest Recycling Center before the hour of its opening or after the hour of its closing or at any time on any day when said area is not open to the public; and no person shall deposit, dump, or release garbage, refuse or waste materials of any kind in any area within Town of Forest Recycling Center at any time that the Town of Forest Recycling Center is not open to the public.
THEREFORE, the Town of Forest Board will recognize that violation of this ordinance would be considered illegal dumping and will inform the law enforcement agency of the infraction.
Effective Date
This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and posting as provided by law.
Adopted this 11th day of May 2006 by the Town of Supervisors of the Town of Forest, Vernon County.
